The big C word…Clarity

Only miss the sun when it starts to snow
Only know you love her when you let her go
Only know you've been high when you're feeling low
Only hate the road when you're missing home
So, a favourite song of mine played on my playlist. The words made me think of how contrast leads to clarity. When we taste broccoli we know we like pizza better, when we squeeze into our jeans we know we feel more comfortable in track pants, or if we find ourselves in a job we dislike, we more easily know what we would prefer. So, in knowing what it is we don’t want, we move closer to knowing what it is we do want.
Made me wonder about how our current isolation is allowing us the opportunity to have even deeper clarification as to how we want our lives to unfold. Making it clear to us, what we value and what we don’t.
There are things I have felt relief and joy around not having to do, but there are also other things that I am missing or I wish I could have more of? Use this time, to notice two things:
1. What do I miss? What do I want more of?
2. What don’t I miss? Happy to see go?
Like picking off the petals on a daisy…I love you…I love you not…I love you…I love you not
Use this insight to start building clarity around how you want to direct your career choices and ultimately your life choices.
