The big brew debate: Tea vs Coffee

The big brew debate: Tea vs Coffee

The debate is settled, tea is better than coffee in the morning.

And there is enough scientific evidence to back it up

A bad night’s sleep?

Our first intuition is to reach for that cup of coffee, but science is telling us to ditch that morning cup of Joe and opt for tea instead.

First off, while tea contains less caffeine than coffee when consumed in the same amount of servings, it supplies more than enough to clear that morning grogginess, but unlike coffee, tea is high in L-theanine, a powerful antioxidant when combined with caffeine, stimulates your brain, help you retain alertness, focus, and sharpness.

In fact, a study discovered that participants who consumed L-theanine and caffeine together performed better on an attention test than those who consumed caffeine alone.

Last, L-theanine and other amino acids in tea slow down how quickly the body absorbs caffeine. This may seem like a negative at first, but once you realize this will not only prevent jitters and crashes but give you consistent energy for a longer period of time, it becomes a huge positive. A few cups of tea in the morning can eliminate the need for several cups of coffee throughout the day

Your teeth will thank you

Unlike coffee, the culprit for the dreaded teeth discoloration, you don’t have the unwarranted side effect with tea. Besides, tea may help prevent cavities by lowering the number of bacteria and decay-causing acids produced in your mouth.

Have a blessed day everyone!
