The BIG 30!??

The BIG 30!??

In light of turning the BIG 30 today, I thought I'd share 30 things I’ve learned in my 30 years on the planet.

1. Life is short

Have fun, laugh till your cheeks and belly hurt. Eat the burger and extra-large fries. DO WHAT MAKES YOU BLOODY HAPPY. Tell your loved ones how much they mean to you whenever you can. Life can be really short, no matter how long you're lucky enough to live. You can’t get back time, make every second count, and don’t ever wish it away

2. You don’t have to have it all figured out

I don’t think anyone actually does have it all figured out. It’s hard sometimes and I struggle with it, but I have now found ways to embrace it and I’m ok with the unknown now

3. Stay true to yourself

It can be REALLY hard not to get swayed by others, but dig deep and persevere. Keep doing YOU. In the end, your uniqueness will stand out. Be you, be the amazing, unique person you are, and don’t let people tell you otherwise. We aren’t meant to be the same. The world would be pretty damn boring if we were.

4. I love coffee ?

I honestly don’t know what I’d do without an Almond Cap in my life every morning. Thank you to the delightful person who invented coffee.

5. Treat others as you'd like to be treated

This was taught to me by parents and to this day I still standby it and think it's forgotten by many people.

6. Manners cost nothing

Again taught to me at a very young age by my parents. I can't stand rude people

7. The older you get the more horrific the hangover gets ????

I do not handle hangovers well anymore. I’m the biggest baby after I drink. I’m bed-bound for at least two-three days. No such thing as going out two nights in a row anymore, especially on a school night.

8. Be thankful

It's incredibly easy to forget to be thankful for all the awesome things we have in life.

9. Be genuinely interested in others

This is a great way to build new relationships, connections, and will open up new opportunities both personally and professionally. Talk less and listen more

 10. Collaboration over competition

Particularly as women, we need to support each other, encourage one another, help each other. We all benefit from working together. If you can help someone, help them!

11. If you want something, work for it

If you want to have a good life with a successful career, emotional satisfaction, and trustworthy friends you have to work hard. Nothing good comes easy

12. My family are everything to me ?

They’ve supported me from day 1, I put them through a hell of a lot in my teenage years ( especially my poor mum) but they were and still are always there for me. They mean the absolute world to me.

13. Travel as much as possible ?

The best thing I ever did was to travel. It led me to be here and call this beautiful country my home. I’ve met some of my closest friends from traveling. COVID go away, please!

14. Smunchy Peanut butter is the best ??

On a crumpet with heaps of butter YUMMMM

15. Surround yourself with positive, genuine people

Spend time with people that bring the best out in you and that support your dreams and goals, no matter how big or small they may be. Keep your circle small. Invest your energy and time into the right people.

16. Always try something once

Sky diving, shark cage diving, bungee, eating a scorpion, whatever it maybe if you want to do something. Then do it, unless it illegal and would jeopardise someone else’s wellbeing, then don’t.

17. I do not like sambuca ??

Now, its probably because I used to drink the stuff like it was water, but I just can’t, the smell makes me gag.

18. BIG YES to beetroot and pineapple on a burger ??

Never thought I’d say this but my god they are both phenomenal on a burger YUMM!

19. I can’t keep plants alive

I’ve tried numerous times, I just can’t do it! I don’t know what I do wrong, they just die.

20. Exercise, as much as you can

If I’m not at the gym, outside walking. I can’t trust my emotions, my reactions, my thinking. Regular exercise helps me mentally and physically, it resets me.

21. Never give up

Stick it out and never throw the towel in when things start to get tough, dig deep. There’s light a the end of the tunnel. Also don’t be afraid to ask for help.

22. Always wash your protein shakers out

I don’t think I’ve ever smelt something quite so horrific!

23. Sometimes a smile can change everything

A simple smile or hello could lead to a million things. Be kind to people.

24. Not everyone will like you ?????♀?

You can’t and won’t be everybody’s cup of tea and that is perfectly ok. You will also never be able to please everyone no matter how hard you try, there will always be someone who isn’t impressed by you, what you do, or what you stand for.

25. Don’t compare your life to others

Everyone has a unique purpose and their own story. Although it's hard with Instagram and FB, it’s important to live your own life, and not worry about what everyone else is doing. You are exactly where you need to be right now.

26. Everything happens for a reason

It may not seem like it at the time but I believe everything in life does happen for a reason. It teaches you a lesson that you can later use in life.

27. The sea helps everything

Stressed, tired, hungover, or just hot. Jump in that water! It’s good for your mind, body, and soul.

28. Don’t burn bridges

You just never know. It's very likely your paths will cross again.

29. It's okay not to be okay all the time

We all have good and bad days. No one can be perfectly happy all of the time, that is not human. Learn to embrace this and to remember that you are not alone.

30. Learn from others ????

I’ve purposely left #30 blank so I can learn something from you. Tell me a life lesson you have learned thought out your years!

At 30, I know I still have so much to learn but I guess that’s one of the beautiful things of life. I know that like the first 30 years of my life, these next 30 will be filled with lessons, good and bad. They’ll be filled with the most amazing memories and heaps of laughter, love, and loss.
