The Big 12 Questions
During my process of action grid concept development, it has come to the point that key questions must be addressed. The following are 12 how-to questions I have researched and developed so far and are considered suitable for the mapping of action grid tool and its mechanism as these questions can be raised from different circumstances and looking for a series of suggested actions to be generated from the 25 action grid elements. Please see the brief description of each question and see how sense-making it is.

1.????? How to start and grow a business?

To start and grow a business successfully involves great passion, good ideas, right decisions, and effective actions from the founders. This could start and materialize from the vision together with a lot of effort in making the dream come true. Along the way, the knowledge and understanding of business model must be clear and concerned people must go through operational obstacles and challenges according to the true nature of change and transformation journey.

2.????? How to manage an organization?
?
Once an organization is set up, it needs proper management so that it can achieve the goals and objectives. It concerns multiple interactions among parties both internally and externally. Problem-solving and risk management are inevitable tasks for responsible managers. An organization must be supported with a robust and reliable system to ensure its continuity in the long run. The whole organization development process also requires understanding and support from the management.

3.????? How to develop a team?
?
To ensure that a business can continue successfully over time, an effective and efficient team is a must. Even though we are talking about AI and machines are going to replace many works human is doing, who know, the future of hybrid teamwork may be needed for successful organizations. Humans are an important asset of an organization that should be nurtured and developed with knowledge, experiences and skill set.

4.????? How to develop a product or service?

The business exists because they can serve demand from targeted customers. As competitors are offering better and cheaper products or services, the business cannot avoid improving themselves. As every product or service may have a certain life cycle in the marketplace, a new product or service must be launched in a timely manner so that a business can survive. Absolutely, we cannot overlook other supporting functions in marketing and back-office support.

5.????? How to develop a process and governance?

When we talk about the process, it could cover all areas in an organization such as production, administration, accounting and so on. There can be confusion, loss, and inefficiency unless a well-established process is put in place. Corporate governance is closely related to the effectiveness of all operations and business processes. Hence, the control system must be considered for its existence and functions starting from the board of directors to the management organization.

6.????? How to find solutions and solve problems?

On a day-to-day basis, business operations cannot avoid encountering issues occurring from dealing with all stakeholders. To serve the customers, product and service quality and delivery must be assured. Unforeseen situations and requirements can happen because of business development. It is the primary responsibility of employees to handle the arising issue in an effective and efficient manner. Problem-solving skills must be developed to clear up all outstanding issues that can undermine the business’s performance eventually.

7.????? How to cope with the uncertain and unexpected?

As businesses are to face a fast-paced moving environment and disruptions, it is important to prepare ourselves to be ready to face all kinds of uncertainties and unexpected situations. The recent COVID-19 is an example of the incident that no one can figure out how much impact it could create. By understanding our strengths and weakness, we should utilize and manage our resources so that we are most ready to cope with the challenge.

There is a serious cause of loss and damage being hidden in certain organizations. This is due to the delay, slow-moving, and inactive important and impactful projects. Outstanding work that is not finished has become a sickness for many companies. In this case, management must quickly identify and fix it before it becomes an acceptable corporate culture.

9.????? How to contribute to society?

Today, businesses should incorporate social responsibility as part of their mission. Businesses cannot merely focus on their own performance; they should sacrifice for the sake of society’s wellness as well. This is considered action value impacts that support the business in the long run and in the sustainability manner. ??????

10.? ?How to contribute to countries?
?
In the higher level, we need to consider how we can contribute to the country we belong to. This is part of our duty, responsibility, and future. A good business can adopt the bigger picture of corporate responsibility to sacrifice and allocate resources for the sake of country stability that will last for next generations to come. There are so many aspects and practical ways a business can do it if they have willingness and spirit of a good citizen.

11.? How to contribute to the world?

Ultimately, as we live together with worldwide friends and nature, we cannot avoid being responsible for any impacts caused by us directly or indirectly. Many countries have started setting targets and issue measures in coping with several environmental issues. Inevitably, we must comply with upcoming regulations and should support the endeavor to make a better world.

The above initially developed 12 questions will have to go through the test of action grid framework to understand how the system can help provide suggested actions leading to the answer and success as expected. More development of this will be shared soon. ?
