Biennial Hazardous Waste Reports and CRTK are due March 1st

This is a brief reminder to our clients regarding the 2022 Biennial Hazardous Waste Report and the Community Right to Know (CRTK) Report. The deadline for submission of these reports is March 1, 2022.

?The Biennial Hazardous Waste Report must be submitted by March 1, 2022, to the authorized State agency or USEPA regional office. The report captures data from 2021 that includes quantities of hazardous waste sent to treatment, storage, and disposal facilities (TSDFs). Federal regulations require large quantity hazardous waste generators (LQGs) to submit these reports.?However, some states may have additional requirements.

?The CRTK report (Tier II report), per Title III of the Emergency Planning & Community Right to Know Act (EPCRA), requires facilities with specific NAICS codes to report hazardous substances present at their facility in quantities that exceed 500 pounds (or less for extremely hazardous substances). The report informs local emergency responders of hazards within the facility and must be submitted yearly to jurisdictional State and local emergency planning officials.
