Bids for Connection
One Minute Growth Tool-Connection

Bids for Connection

Everyday we make and receive bids for connection. These are small and often inconspicuous efforts we make to connect to others throughout our day. They might be words, questions, smiles, handshakes, or even grunts. Bids can come in a variety of forms, but they are all relational touchpoints.

Being socially aware and relationally mature is about picking up on these subtle touchpoints and responding to the opportunities that are presented. We can answer the bids that come our way by responding with a touchpoint of our own that reassures the other person that a connection has been made.
