The gavel eventually came down at £593,000 for three-bedroom 140 Bawdsey Avenue – way above the freehold guide price.
It was among 105 lots in the latest auction held by one of the top five property auctioneers in the UK, Clive Emson Land and Property Auctioneers.
The property was sold?at the firm’s latest auction which ended on Wednesday, 3 November.
Senior Auction Appraiser Russell Hawkes said: “This one really took off as strong early interest generated sustained and competitive bidding – auctioneering at its best.
“Although the property requires an intensive programme of refurbishment and re-decoration, our bidders could see the huge potential here.

“Particularly, as it sits on a generous garden plot, it offers huge potential to extend to the side, the rear or into the roof space, subject to all necessary consents being obtainable.
“We long considered it would make an excellent family home once works have been carried out – or could be let to generate a good income – and our buyer agreed.”
The property, sitting on a plot of 0.09 hectares (0.21 acres), has good size front and rear garden, side access to rear garden, a detached garage to the side and a driveway.
This three bedroom end-terrace house is situated in a popular residential turning, within close proximity of shops, public transport, schools and near to Newbury Park underground station (Central Line).
