Bidding Quarterly Issue 5 - Evolving the Profession in 2019
At the time of writing, 2019 has significant uncertainty surrounding it. Thankfully, our experts are adept at dealing with such ambiguity and have provided a fantastic set of articles in Issue 5 of Bidding Quarterly, full of great ideas and suggestions to evolve our profession in 2019. Download the latest edition here.
As Jon Williams article rightly points out, it’s exhilarating working in a profession that’s developing so fast. With so many opportunities to grow individually and develop as teams, it’s essential that your plans are already well formed if you are to ensure 2019 achieves its full potential.
Issue 4 of Bidding Quarterly tackled some very personal issues relating to wellbeing. The outpouring of support our experts have received has been humbling. It obviously served as a catalyst for many people to challenge their current lack of wellbeing. I’m delighted to say that in BQ5, we have sought expert opinion from Robert Stewart – an experienced business psychologist, psychotherapist and coach with over 10 years’ experience in the field of psychology. Robert has provided some practical guidance and suggestions that you can immediately implement within your working day.
I hope you enjoy issue 5 and have a restful Christmas and a very successful and healthy 2019.
My primary focus in 2024 and beyond will be as an external, on-demand Strategic Deals and Sales Coach, something I’ve been doing for at least 30 years for numerous and varied organisations.
5 年Regarding Martin's piece "Proud to be APMP UK? I’d really like to be." I have to say I agree. I was there at the very beginning with Jon Williams, and was COO to Jon's CEO for the first three years.? The issues that Martin articulates so well seem no different to 20 years later.? APMP UK needs more autonomy and the right to spend its income on its own projects.?? I took Rick Harris?to task six months ago about a post in which he rightly and proudly talked about the APMP team of voluntary and paid contributors, suggesting that the TRUE measure of success was surely what has been achieved against the actual purpose of APMP, and Rick commented back that that was to be his very next post - but I think I missed it! The idea of an accreditation programme started in UK APMP, with strong resistance from the US Board, but it happened anyway.? I know that the accreditation programme now in place is new, but it's often forgotten that it started in the UK and that Cathy Day?gave so much of herself to make that happen, but it took too long for her to be recognised IMHO. I would rejoin the APMP tomorrow if Martin's suggestions became a reality, but sadly it won't happen.

5 年Martin Smith, this is the best issue so far, Andrew Haigh's wish list is spot on. Please be sure to let me know If anyone finds / develops the software to address No.10 on the list. I feel the APMP really has a chance to make a difference, never have I seen such this much traction in the profession. Is the desire there to for the body seize the opportunity and change accordingly? @Jon Williams?then may see the second part of No.6 become reality.
