Bidding Adieu 2020
2020 was terrible. It was miserable for the most and cherishing for the least. Many lost their jobs very few got the new. People lost their loved ones, many recovered and survived yet most of us are still on threat.
2020 was a year of lockdown, shut down for many industries. We had learnt curfew in our childhood times and rarely before 2020 in the areas where law & order situation was dreadful. But lockdowns and shutter off are common now. A year many had to live far from their family, and most of them are still away from their loved ones.
Besides awful, there is either side of picture too.
Can anyone imagine the digital adoption at scale: zoom meet ups, zoom class rooms, zoom get together, zoom seminars rrr. Webinars, digital hangouts, online learnings, remote work, virtual coffees etc. The rapid growth of digital technologies driven by pandemic made us quick adaptive. The pace of pre-corona world and post pandemic effects have a drastic difference between the two. The luxury of time seems to have disappeared by now. Not only this we are doing what we dint do in past before COVID.
COVID crisis seemingly provided a sudden glimpses of future world; avenues for new doors, new start overs, creativity, proactivity, pre-emptive measures, focus on health and cleanliness, carefulness towards everyone around.
Personally, I had mixed experiences, many learnings, and more lessons, hardly gave up on any.
I was a people person. The solitude of lockdowns & remote working made me limited to myself and to my close net family. I liked being around the people but during this year became more confined to self only.
I liked to be multitasker but could learn more while on work from home.
Internet and my brain did few wonders to me. I was fortunate enough to spare my time to some productive engagements and volunteered few webinars within community. I wrote a little about banking and more about new normal and next normal whilst, at the same time hoping to be the last words on Pandemic today.
2020 is the year of saying goodbye. A goodbye to my previous employer. Goodbye to challenging times. Goodbye to 2020 was more than a year!
Storms are inevitable. Now is the time for bold learning. Hello 2021.
