5 年I worked in the Cambridge boots for a few years on and off we accepted all Uk bank notes just didn't re issue the non English notes. No bother cant see why it still an issue. They do state Sterling but if people are not willing to take these notes their problem if i walk away not buying in their shop. Tend to carry both English and Scottish notes when im heading south less hassle.
