To the chief Musician, || Al-taschith, ? Michtam of David, * when he fled from Saul in the cave.
1? Be a merciful unto me, O God, be merciful unto me:
For my soul b trusteth in thee:
Yea, c in the shadow of thy wings will I make my refuge,
d Until these e calamities be overpast.
2? I will cry unto God most high;
Unto God that f performeth all things for me.
3? g He shall send from heaven, and save me
|| From the reproach of him that would h swallow me up. Selah.
God shall send forth i his mercy and his truth.
4? j My soul is k among lions:
And I lie even among them that are set on fire, even the sons of men,
Whose l teeth are spears and arrows,
And m their tongue n a sharp sword.
5? o Be thou exalted, O God, above the heavens;
Let thy glory be above all the earth.
6? They have prepared p a net for my steps;

Author
All of The authors of the Psalms are unknown, we know that Moses wrote (1), David (73), Solomon (2), the sons of Korah (11, including one to which the name of Heman is also attached), Asaph (12), and Ethan (1) it is possible that others also wrote some of the Psalms, as well!!!!
The Author of Psalms 57 is David, and the Psalms was to be etched in Gold, a Michtam!!!! David is writing to the Director of Musician and telling him this that Psalms should not be destroyed, Al-taschith!!!!
Date
The date of the Psalms covers from the Exodus, roughly 1300 BC through the return of the exiles, 586ish some 800 years.

Exegetical/Hermetical
Application
In a nut shell no matter what the situation we find ourselves in we are to praise and worship God. That we must know beyond any shadow of a doubt that we must focus our attention not on the things of this world but on God's Hesed, Chesed, and Channon. 2Co 4:18?while we do not look at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen. For the things which are seen are temporary, but the things which are not seen are eternal.?
Conclusion
Never stop praising the Lord!!! I love this, if we truly love the Lord our God with all our hearts, souls and minds, why would we ever want to stop sing praises to God. Why would we ever want to wallow in misery; when we can rejoice in God's Hesed, Chesed and Channon and Shalom!!!!

Do you ever want to stop praising God??
For me the answer is never. I love the Lord my God with all my Heart, Soul and Mind and it only grows stronger day by day. I am so blessed to be an Apostle of YWHW's and His Disciple. That I have the honor of being daily in YWHW's Hesed, Chesed, and Channan, and Shalom. I pray you never stop praising YWHW either.?
