To the chief Musician, A Psalm of David.

1? a Blessed is he that considereth || the poor:

The Lord will b deliver him ? in time of trouble.

2? The Lord will preserve him, and keep him alive;

And he shall be blessed upon the earth:

And || thou wilt not deliver him unto the will of his enemies.

3? The Lord will bb strengthen him upon the bed of languishing:

Thou wilt ? make all his bed in his sickness.

4? I said, Lord, c be merciful unto me:

d Heal my soul; for I have sinned against thee.

5? Mine enemies speak evil of me,

When shall he die, and his name perish?

6? And if he come to see me, he e speaketh vanity:

His heart gathereth iniquity to itself;

When he goeth abroad, he telleth it.

7? All that hate me whisper together against me:

Against me do they devise ? my hurt.

8? ? An evil disease, say they, cleaveth fast unto him:

And now that he f lieth he shall rise up no more.

9? g Yea, ? mine own familiar friend, in whom I trusted,

h Which did eat of my bread,

Author

All of The authors of the Psalms are unknown, we know that Moses wrote (1), David (73), Solomon (2), the sons of Korah (11, including one to which the name of Heman is also attached), Asaph (12), and Ethan (1) it is possible that others also wrote some of the Psalms, as well!!!!

The author of Ps 41 is David and he is writing to the Director of Music, and it is

The date of the Psalms covers from the Exodus, roughly 1300 BC through the return of the exiles, 586ish some 800 years.

We are not told when this Psalms was written but it had to be during David’s reign as it is written to the Director of music.
