A Psalm of David, * to bring to remembrance.

1? O a Lord, rebuke me not in thy wrath:

Neither chasten me in thy hot displeasure.

2? For b thine arrows stick fast in me,

And c thy hand presseth me sore.

3? There is d no soundness in my flesh because of thine anger;

Neither is there any ? rest in e my bones because of my sin.

4? For f mine iniquities are gone over mine head:

As an heavy burden they are too g heavy for me.

Because of my foolishness.

6? I am ? troubled; I am i bowed down greatly;

I have m roared by reason of the disquietness of my heart.

When c my foot slippeth, they d magnify themselves against me.

And my sorrow is continually before me.

Author

All of The authors of the Psalms are unknown, we know that Moses wrote (1), David (73), Solomon (2), the sons of Korah (11, including one to which the name of Heman is also attached), Asaph (12), and Ethan (1) it is possible that others also wrote some of the Psalms, as well!!!!

The author of the Psalms is David.

Date

The date of the Psalms covers from the Exodus, roughly 1300 BC through the return of the exiles, 586ish some 800 years.

We are not told the date of the writing of the Psalms but as David is gravely sick it could be when David is dying, 970 BCE.

History

The history of the Psalms is that of David’s life span 1040-970 BCE.
