The Bible is Outdated: Part 2
Have you noticed that we live in a world where many people claim that truth is plural and does not exist in a singular form? I have had conversations with some highly intelligent people who embrace this belief yet cannot have a five-minute conversation without contradicting themselves. Why? Because truth is integrated into the foundation of the world and no one can escape its reality.
For example, imagine if you were accused of a crime which you did not commit. Indeed, the truth is vitally important to preserve you from unjust punishment. What if a co-worker erroneously accused of an act which you did not perform? Undoubtedly, appealing to the truth is imperative as it is central to preserving your job. Alternatively, visualize what would happen to the real estate markets if titles to properties were unreliable. Truth is a dominant trait integrated into every aspect of our lives.
“The Bible declares it is the word of God and being as such is infallible and inerrant.”
So how does truth relate to the Bible? Simply, stated the Bible claims to be the truth. More specifically the Bible declares it is the word of God and being as such is infallible and inerrant (Psalms 12:6, 2 Peter 1:21, 2 Timothy 3:16).
So, what is the relationship between truth and time? No correlation exists between truth and time. Truth has no dependency on time. When someone makes the statement “the Bible is outdated” he or she is intermingling two separate and independent principles. Truth is always superior to the passage of time.
“The world we live in and its design bear witness to the characteristics of its Creator.”
So, why is this important to you? The world we live in and its design bear witness to the characteristics of its Creator. Truth is one of the core attributes of God. Hence, pluralistic beliefs regarding God is not a plausible option. God is not a cosmic mix of Islam, Judaism, Hinduism, Buddhism, and Christianity or any other combination thereof. Moreover, the Bible claims it is the exclusive revelation of God. Therefore, all decisions in your life are incomparable regarding your conclusions about the Bible as it has much to say about life, death and your eternal destination.
