Bible Business Principle
II Corinthians 12:15 “And I will very gladly spend and be spent for you; though the more abundantly I love you, the less I be loved.”
How much are you willing to give and when do you quit giving? Paul says to the Corinthians in this passage that he is glad to give of himself to a people that ungrateful for his sacrifice.?
Have you ever given of time and effort to individuals that are unresponsive and unappreciative? What do you do when this happens? Paul kept giving and spending his time and energy on these people and he did it gladly!!
He had a deep love for the people he was writing to, yet the more he loved them the less his love was reciprocated.
You and I are not responsible for the response of others toward our efforts, but we are responsible for our efforts. We are responsible for doing the right thing and doing it with a pure heart, a heart that wants the best for others and is willing to share truth in love even if it falls on deaf ears.
When others refuse to respond to our efforts and love we need to continue to spend and be spent. We need to continue to love even if we are not loved in return. Don’t give up hope, keep spending. If you “cast thy bread upon the waters, thou shalt find it after many days”. (Eccl. 11:1) You will reap in due season if you faint not.
