John 21:25 “And there are also many other things which Jesus did, the which, if they were written every one, I suppose that even the world itself could not contain the books that should be written, Amen”
When you think of the life of Christ on earth and all that is written in the books of the gospels, (which are actually biographies from different vantage points) you see a life that was short-lived, 33 ? years long, yet it was vibrant and full.
His life, in the book of John, could summed up in three words:
1.???? Signs
2.???? Sharing
3.???? Sorrow
?
Think about the beginning of his ministry and the miracles that were performed.
He turned water into to wine, opened blind eyes, fed 5000 on a few loaves and fishes, calmed a troubled sea and raised the dead.
In the next part of his life he spent the vast majority of his time with 12 men, teaching them and training them to carry on his work when he was gone.
Then he went through the agony of false accusation, a mock trial and a cruel crucifixion
Yet in that short 33 ? years he had an impact that is unfathomable and unable to be documented in its entirety. How did Christ live such an impactful life?
He lived it for others. Everything he did he did with what it would do for others.
If biographers were to write about your life after it is over, would they be able to say the same for you? My hope is that that will be the epitaph of my life.
