Ezekiel 37:3 “And He said unto me, Son of man, can these bones live? And I answered, O Lord God, thou knowest.”

Ezekiel was taken to a bone yard with bones scattered all over the ground and the bones were very dry. God asked the prophet, “Can these bones live?” and Ezekiel answered with doubt. What he did know is that with God all things are possible.

The reason for the visual for Ezekiel was because the people of God were scattered and did not show any signs of life and God was telling him that the nation would one day come together again and live.?Ezekiel was told by God to speak to the bones and when he did they began to come together and flesh began to come upon them and they lived.

I am not in any way suggesting that we will see a cemetery come to life tomorrow but I think the text does suggest that when things appear hopeless and it seems that there is no life or vibrancy that things can change.

Organizations and individuals can, and do change!!! Ezekiel spoke to the bones and there was life!!!

Don’t give up hope. Keep pushing and striving and trying to revive that which seems dead and useless and God can bring life where there is none.
