A reason women need to be building the future - the bias in AI and Tech will persist and we will be left out.?
Thoughts on Building the Future
Writing a book entitled “The Future Built by Women”, leaves me with constant thought about the future of our country, world and planet. I recently read a stat in the WSJ that said that 78% of Americans do not feel confident that their kids generation will grow up better than they did. That is incredibly sad and bleak.?We could wallow in that or we can do something about it.?I have chosen to do what I can to help build a brighter future for my kids and that means waking up each day and choosing to build in some small way.?A small way that helps me to gain momentum towards building bigger and better solutions.
As I have been writing the book I have been looking into areas where women are currently building the future. I have been very encouraged by the building happening in the digital health space by women.?Companies like Mahmee, Natalist, Tia Clinic, Origin and so many more that are helping to make healthcare more equitable and truly solving women’s issues.?Our empathy and drive to solve problems that impact ourselves, our friends, families and communities make us some of the best builders.?
When I started Allobee years ago, I had experienced having to leave a job due to the lack of flexibility as a new mom and the pull to still have a career.?That is why I built a platform where moms could get paid for flexible work and still grow in a career.?That passion and personal experience helped me build, but so did my tech skills. ?
I believe if more women would know just enough coding or cutting edge technology like AI to be dangerous, watch out world, women will build a world that we can be confident our kids will have it off better than we did.?
