Biagio takes part in panel discussion at the Event Production Show

Recently, we were proud to see our new Event Manager at Central Hall Westminster, Biagio Scotto di Mase , speak on the What I have Done After My Events Degree panel at the Event Production Show at Excel in London.

Panel members from diverse areas of the events industry discussed the options available to students as to how their career journey might look and gave advice on maximising the value of their degrees by turning theoretical ideas into practical work. They also discussed options that an event manager can pursue, highlighted what an average day looks like for a venue-based event manager, and explained why a current student should consider working in a venue.

During his talk, Biagio shared his own unique career path that led him to Central Hall Westminster and how he has used the theories learned in education to influence his professional work as an Event Manager.?Biagio used the Empathy Map as a student, which has proved a useful tool for event managers during the customer journey, helping to create memorable events.

We now have the privilege of seeing Biagio bring ideas, knowledge, and experiences gained from working at a range of venues to our own building. One of the latest examples of Biagio’s skill was during a recent Breakfast Morning event, he transformed our South Rotunda into a bright, welcoming catering and event space.

According to Biagio, “I really enjoyed taking part in the panel discussion and there were certainly some interesting ideas raised – it was so rewarding to be able to pass on some of my own experience as a student and how I entered the events industry. I was able to pass on how I have put my skills into practise at such an iconic venue as Central Hall Westminster where no two events are ever the same.”
