It’s a fact that employer expectations around the delivery of mental health and wellbeing in the workplace far exceeds what’s currently available. Despite being in this space for nearly a decade and serving employee needs for over a century, BHSF the Birmingham based Health and Wellbeing business is reimagining the support it provides and reengineering its delivery in a root and branch review.
Speaking at the round-table event in central Birmingham, Brian Hall CCO of BHSF Group said: “In lifting our own ambitions to fully meet the needs of employees when they need us most we are not only challenging our own team but the industry at large, to raise their game. The approach we are taking calls for an ethos we have been unable to find in the market and this is why we have entered a strategic joint venture with SME HCI. Clinical excellence and client first will be our guiding principles as we seek to deliver 360 degree “whole person” interventions that are both seamless and empathetic to the users”.
The joint venture, which will be based out of the Widnes Centre of Excellence will deliver seamless solutions across physical as well as mental health and will incorporate ground-breaking partnerships in both financial intervention and carer support. By early 2020 the joint venture aims to deliver a radically different approach to employee crisis support and to offer proactive engagement packages for key lifestyle events, many of which can see employees absent from work for weeks if not months if they are simply left to their own devices.
Chairman of BHSF Group, Andrew Milner, said: “There is a real vision at the centre of this joint venture from both BHSF and from Simon Moyle’s team at SME HCI. Having personally met the Widnes clinical team, their passion and determination to make a difference is tangible and we are excited to be working with them”.
Free from the encumbrances that can come from private equity and other short term investment models, the joint venture has exciting ambitions for both market reach and personal impact for its users. In a market estimated to be worth £2.8billion the partners’ ambitions are clearly to disrupt the market for the better.
A full picture of the offering including market pricing is expected to become clearer in the weeks ahead.

5 年Folks, big thanks for the feedback and offline emails. For those chasing me, pricing of our flagship resilience piece is all but complete and we’ll test with those who want to later ion Q4 - looks like a quiet December is unlikely...
