BGIS Ottawa Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Team – Giving Back to Our Local Community
BGIS believes strongly in giving back to our local communities. In 2016 we raised over $460,000 for 34 charities across Canada. Much of this fundraising happens at the local community level, where our team members donate their time and skills to raise money or help their local communities.
This is a shout out to the BGIS Ottawa CSR team that continues to support many local charities. Fundraising events include:
· Ugly Sweater Day
· Movember supporting men’s health
· BGIS baseball game that raises money for the food bank
· Mmmmmmmmm Mondays bake sales that raise money for various charities in the area
· Holiday Casino for Toy Mountain
· Silent auctions for various charities
· Chili Cook off for the Epic Walk
· Fund raisers for Constance Bay area and Gatineau area floods
· Collecting garbage in the Ottawa, Orleans, and Kingston communities
· Steps for Life Walk supporting families across Canada affected by workplace tragedies
· TELUS Motor Cycle Ride for Dad supporting prostate cancer research
· Crohn’s and Colitis walk
· Supporting the BEEs with wild flower seed packet donations
I may have missed other events over the past year, as the list is quite long. But a personal thank you to all of those in the Ottawa office, who have donated your time, passion and money.
