INSPIRATION

Our inspiration this month comes from our member Abinash Saikia, co-founder of EnCloudEN (acquired by Quantum). According to him, entrepreneurship is the greatest challenge any individual can ever conquer. And the mantra that helped him in his entrepreneurial journey?

“One thing that IIM inculcated in me and has been a key to my success is Integrity! Integrity is integral to being a leader. And leaders succeed!”

You can read more about his story, and the journey to being a successful entrepreneur here.?

FACTS

“A glimpse of green makes people more creative.”?

Source: https://journals.sagepub.com/doi/abs/10.1177/0146167212436611?

This may be one of the reasons why creative people, especially artists, tend to go and spend time with nature to get those creative juices flowing better.?

We definitely understand the importance of green which is why 2gethr @ ORR is purposefully designed to make the most of nature and the natural green tones. All the windows overlook greenery, but greenery doesn’t just stop at the windows. Nature really takes over the space with real plants placed all over the space. Even the frosting on the glass partitions in the private modules has been carefully picked to be the most relaxing tone of green.

Hi! TECH?

Technology is ever-evolving, and innovations in the form of apps, podcasts, and new devices constantly keep upping the game.?

Apps: Thanks to developers for understanding how important, but distracting our smartphones have become.?

  • Take a deep breath with Breathwrk, an app that helps you get energized, reduce your stress levels, and sleep better. How does it do all these? With 100+ science-backed breathing exercises and classes on mastering them.?(Available on iOS and Android)
  • There is news popping up every minute, and it is hard to keep track of news that you might find insightful. Try Feedly, a platform where you can curate a feed based on your interests and trusted news sites, and the AI (aptly named Leo) will clear out all the noise and deliver insightful news directly to you! (Available on iOS, iPad OS, Android, and browsers)

Movies: Movies have been a source of entertainment for a long time, but some movies provide the viewers with insights that are super unexpected (just like the ending of Fight Club). Here are two movies for your weekend watchlist.?

  • Yes Man is a film featuring Jim Carrey that explores the possibilities that will arise if we start saying ‘Yes’ to every opportunity that comes our way. (Available on Amazon Prime Video)
  • The Mighty Ducks is a classic underdog movie that has become a cult classic. A rag-tag group of hockey players who can’t skate, can’t score, and can’t win learn the value of teamwork in becoming winners. (Available on Disney+ Hotstar)

Tips 4 YOU?

YOU are the most essential part of your life and this newsletter, and we couldn’t be more proud of everything you have achieved. Research has proved that taking short breaks during the workday helps in increased positivity. One of the most crucial breaks throughout the day is the meal break. Here are some ways you can harness the power of the meal:-

  • Eat with your colleagues: When colleagues eat together, they set a friendly tone. This can support more intentional and intense conversations later in the day. Breaking the bread together helps you by gaining camaraderie, increasing your cooperation with others, and attaining peak performance.?
  • Socialize: When having a meal with your colleagues, socialize with topics that are not work-related. This helps by creating a familial bond which translates to increased trust and a more helping attitude.?
  • Discuss & Debate: This might sound hypocritical of the above point, but the best time to have discussions and debates is while sharing a meal. When having a meal, we tend to bring an empty mind to the table, which is focused only on quenching our hunger. This can help in having discussions with a more open-mind resulting in better ideation. Pixar - One of the best movie studios for animated movies, created by Steve Jobs himself started over a meal. The first characters for Toy Story were jotted down on a piece of napkin.

You can learn more about the power of breaking bread together here.

This brings us to the end of this month’s newsletter.?
