NEWS

Here are some of the news highlights in July that stood out to us:

  1. The CRE market in the country started showing an upward trend after 6 quarters. The gross leasing activity reached 12.7 million sq. ft., up 2.5% from a year ago. The tech sector led the leasing activity, followed by Managed Offices, and Co-working Spaces. The rise in the adoption of flexible workspace solutions bolsters the changing trend in how enterprises are taking up office space. In the 1st quarter of the fiscal year, Bengaluru and Chennai were the top two markets in terms of net absorption. The future supply pipeline remains strong which bodes well for the office sector.?
  2. For the world’s largest market, search engine behemoth 谷歌 goes local with their recently launched AI tool ‘Bard’. The company added capabilities of 12 local languages. Users can now converse with the bot in several vernacular languages - Assamese, Bengali, Gujarati, Hindi, Kannada, Malayalam, Marathi, Odia, Punjabi, Tamil, Telugu, and Urdu.
  3. Google also announced the integration of generative AI in the upcoming Android 14 mobile OS set to launch in September. For developers, the integration of Bard Al into Android 14 opens new horizons including the support of intelligent and dynamic applications, leveraging generative Al to cater to individual user needs. Personalization is set to be the cornerstone of Bard Al's Android vision, utilizing user data to tailor suggestions, responses, and actions for a seamless smartphone experience.

INSPIRATION:

Our inspiration this month comes from Vamsi Krishna P. , a Software Developer at Scapia .

With a sharp and strategic play across rounds, he stood as the winner in our event ‘Strategic Moves: Celebrating Chess” which was held on International Chess Day, July 20th.?

?

A game of chess can instill a lot of qualities that are highly valued in the modern workspace.?

Qualities like strategic thinking, problem-solving, patience, analytical acumen, cognitive abilities, and a collaborative spirit are some of the highly desirable qualities in working professionals and Chess helps instill all of them.?

The secret to Vamsi’s crown as a Grandmaster? A game of sprint chess online every day.?

FACTS:

“Employees who have control over the design and layout of their workspace are not only happier and healthier -- they're also up to 32 percent more productive.”

Source:- University of Exeter. (2010, September 8). Designing your own workspace improves health, happiness and productivity. ScienceDaily.

According to researchers, there are 4 types of workspaces -?

  • Lean (bare and functional)
  • Enriched (decorated with plants and pictures)
  • Empowered (designed according to the individual)
  • Disempowered

People working in enriched spaces were 17% more productive than those in lean spaces, but those sitting at empowered desks were even more efficient -- being 32% more productive than their lean counterparts without any increase in errors.

This research lays the foundation of our core ideology highlighting the importance of Workplace Strategy and UX research while designing and building Managed Offices.?

Tips 4 YOU:?

YOU are the most essential part of your life and this newsletter, and we couldn’t be more proud of everything you have achieved. For this edition of the newsletter, we are focusing on “Minimum Distraction, Maximum Productivity”. Let us introduce you to a five-step process to get the most out of your day:-

  1. Create a Distraction-Free Zone: Designate a specific area in your workspace as a distraction-free zone. Let your colleagues know that when you're in that area, you need uninterrupted time to focus on tasks.
  2. Time Blocking: Allocate specific time blocks for different tasks on your schedule. Time blocking helps create structure and prevents tasks from blending together, reducing potential distractions.
  3. Single-Tasking vs. Multi-Tasking: While many people believe they are efficient multi-taskers, research shows that single-tasking is more effective. Focus on one task at a time to improve concentration and productivity.?
  4. Prioritize Tasks: Identify the most important tasks and work on them first. By completing high-priority tasks early in the day, you reduce the risk of getting sidetracked by less critical activities.
  5. Two-Minute Rule: If a task takes less than two minutes to complete, do it immediately. This prevents small tasks from piling up and becoming distractions later.

Bonus Tip: We have discussed the Pomodoro Technique and Eisenhower matrix in the previous editions of our newsletter, and now TickTick, the To-Do List & Calendar app has incorporated these features into the app. Try it out to ensure Maximum Productivity.?
