This week’s spotlight is focused on VADM (Ret) Yancy Lindsey, a transitioning Navy Vice (3-star) Admiral who completed a 37-year Navy career and returned to his hometown of Phoenix, AZ in September 2023.
Navy Career Highlights:?
Yancy’s final job in the Navy was as the Commander of Navy Installations Command…responsible for guiding/directing the Navy’s shore enterprise, infrastructure, and operations across 70 installations world-wide.? He led seven (7) Senior Executive Service (SES) and 10 Rear Admirals directly reporting for planning, resourcing, operating and maintaining five core business lines (i.e., air operations, port operations, force protection/security, facility maintenance, and quality of life) and associated facilities, equipment and infrastructure.
Yancy's sea duty assignments have included Antarctic Development Squadron (VXE) 6, twice with Carrier Airborne Early Warning Squadron (VAW) 113, and in command of Carrier Airborne Early Warning Squadron (VAW) 117. During these tours of duty, he completed three deployments to Antarctica and three deployments to the Arabian Gulf aboard USS Carl Vinson (CVN 70), USS Abraham Lincoln (CVN 72), and USS Nimitz (CVN 68).
Ashore, he served on the Joint Staff (J6); at Commander, Naval Air Force, U.S. Pacific Fleet; with the U.S. European Command staff in Stuttgart, Germany; as chief of staff to Commander, Navy Region Southwest; as executive assistant to the Assistant Secretary of the Navy for Energy, Installations and Environment; and in command of Naval Base Coronado.
As a flag officer, Yancy was the 89th commandant of Naval District Washington; Commander, Navy Region Southwest; and Commander, Navy Region Europe, Africa, Central. He began serving as the 7th Commander of Navy Installations Command on 29 May 2020.

Yancy is a devoted family man who loves spending time with his family.? In addition, he loves to solve problems; fix things around the house, on automobiles, etc.; learn and tackle new challenges; and play golf.? Yancy is action-oriented and impressed by initiative, planning and execution, and clever/creative thinking.
