Beyond the Serious Fa?ade of LinkedIn: FDO's Adaptation.
Me: Are you on LinkedIn?
A: Yes, I signed up some years ago but I hardly open the app.
Me: Why?
A: LinkedIn is too serious for me.
Me: Why did you sign up then?
A: To connect with opportunities and network.
Above is a conversation between two professionals. It always ensue between me and some professionals when they consult me on my branding services or when we engage in "serious" talks.
Are you on LinkedIn? Great!
Then you're probably familiar with its reputation for being the "serious" platform among social media networks.
But, is that a bad thing?
Of course not.
LinkedIn's seriousness isn't a drawback; it's a powerful feature.
Let's explore why LinkedIn's seriousness can be a strength, its benefits, and how you can leverage it to achieve your objectives.
The Serious Side of LinkedIn
LinkedIn's serious tone is one of its defining features. It's where professionals gather to discuss industry trends, share insights, and build meaningful connections. This seriousness is a reflection of the platform's primary purpose – to facilitate professional growth.
Just like most persons here, I signed up on the app after graduation to get job opportunities. I know you were also told to sign up to get a job or some other career opportunities too.
You needed to be seen as being serious, so you reluctantly agreed to join this professional networking platform.
Since you have been there, you found nothing nor did you get your first job off here.
So you decided to ditch it.
Years later, your ears are full of testimonies of how LinkedIn brought life-changing opportunities to professionals you know and you decided to revisit the app.
You probably do not have your emails nor your passwords anymore.
So you downloaded a new one or tried to get back the old one.
You visit here to update your career progress and the likes or/and whenever you need a job change or explore other exciting career opportunities.
Ah aha
Yeah Yeah!
Firstlady, you are right o.

I can relate.
????????
Of course I was like that too, until I understood the app.
You remember how we all rushed down to download Threads on the week it was launched? How many of us are still active on Threads? ?????????? I guess not as much as it was during the first month of sign up.
The feeling of being left behind or missing out will make us do some things.
And I think it is worth staking trillions of dollars on , because ehn, It would yield a High R.O.I.
I know you appreciate the business thought shared in this, You're welcome anyway.
Benefits of LinkedIn's Seriousness:
Leveraging LinkedIn for Success:
So, why are you on LinkedIn? To connect with opportunities, network, and elevate your professional journey – and LinkedIn's seriousness can help you achieve just that. You need to have a strategy, optimize your profile and stay active to enjoy it on here. LinkedIn is serious, strive to stay active. Remember "Practice isn't the thing you do once you're good. It's the thing you do that makes you good." - Malcolm Gladwell
