I remember this time last summer, I gave an interview to the?British Psychological Society?about my Online Harms and Cyber Trauma book and self harm.?Click this?Link for the article.

This interview forms the lead up to the new (bright yellow cover) book with?the BPS?this year and this book is about how to manage your screen time.

The?new book:

• urges professionals to learn from young people's heightened privacy awareness and to understand the complexity of cyber-bullying.?
• I also challenge?the simplicity of the Online Safety Bill, emphasising the need to understand self-harm behaviours and discuss uncomfortable topics openly.
• Also, despite the overwhelming nature of this subject, the takeout from this is for professionals to use?your experiences to create safer online spaces.

BANNING SEX EDUCATION: MY VIEWS

As a former tutor and current clinician training others on the impact of children viewing pornography, I’ve seen children confused about consent, relationships, and appropriate conversations.

The recent move to ban sex education before age nine, as discussed in my trainings, will only exacerbate this confusion.?

Just like the debate on banning smartphones, this approach lacks balance and evidence, leading to misconceptions.

We need to move towards balanced and evidence-based education rather than conservative fearmongering.
