Beyond "Scoop"
I must confess that I joined the bandwagon late.
I finally watched Scoop on Netflix! Thanks to my 2 hour plus Delhi Mumbai flight I binged watched the show and continued watching all the episodes till the wee hours of morning.
?The show balances and gives us a sneak peak into Jagruti Pathak personal and work life. Though initially I felt that the family portion were longer maybe a bit dragged but I was completely wrong. The writers made sure we were investing in Pathak's life. By the time the actual 'inciting incident' of Jagruti finally happened (being framed and shamed). The impact on her and the family really hits you like a canon ball. The ample use of Gujrati language makes the experience rich and real and making the characters adorable and almost palpable.
?The parallel work life of Jagruti is a realistic take on how the print media functions. The pace in the office scenes are cut brilliantly topped with brilliant writing that makes you feel you are in the thick of action, something the Indian shows and films often lack or don’t understand. Credit this to good research.
?Of course Karishma Tanna is not a household name but with this series she has finally arrived. Her performance is impeccable and nuanced.
?Kudos to Mohd. Zeeshan! Like always this man always delivers.
The surprise package- Harman Baweja
And big shout out to Deven Bhojani who made every scene filled with love, empathy and emotion.
?Most of my filmmaker friends are unhappy with the way the show has ended. But somehow they were expecting more action! The incomplete feeling is planned and designed so it makes us brood and think.

Hansal Mehta keeps us on the edge with the right amount of sugar and salt and not adding too much masala making the dish a delight!
