We synchronize your Voices of Leadership. To communicate "Same Page, Same Vision, One Team"
As a leader with a mission of global impact, one of your most important presentations is your pitch. These are brief opportunities to share your vision with potential investors, clients and key stakeholders, in order to earn the next conversation, presentation, or high-stakes speaking opportunity.
Recently, we prepared over 100 companies for the Plug and Play summit event. We hosted a customized version of our Presentation Gym, where company leaders participated in a series of micro-training workouts. Each workout focused on 1 slide and 1 type of presentation skill. Those who completed our training delivered outstanding pitch presentations, and earned multiple opportunities for follow-up presentations and conversations.
What are these opportunities, and what is the best way to prepare for each of them? In this article, we will focus on three major types of "Beyond the Pitch" leaderships presentations. Through the case study of a startup CEO, you will learn how to fully prepare for your upcoming high-stakes speaking opportunities
3 types of Leadership Presentations
Every time you deliver a leadership presentation, you have an opportunity to generate Presentation ROI - in the form of money, support and reputation. By using your heroic voice, you have the capacity to earn these resources to fuel your mission and accelerate your impact. Let's explore 3 types of leadership presentations:
Heroic Voice Spotlight
Sherri Douville?is the CEO of?Medigram?and an industry leader in the field of Medical Informatics. As CEO, her vow is to end a leading cause of preventable death: Delays in the sharing of critical life-saving information.
Every week, we facilitate a private Presentation Gym for Sherri and her team, where they prepare for their calendar of high-stakes speaking opportunities. Their dedication to consistent practice has resulted in outstanding presentations which have generated money, support and reputation to fuel the Medigram mission. A summary of her experience:
"From our best selling Mobile Medicine book to our several #1 in their categories Medium posts, & incredible speaking opportunities:?HITLAB?&?ViVE Digital Health events, numerous academic guest lectures, advising governments, my cover story for SV magazine, my score in Crunchbase, the database that investors use research and track companies and more; these were all outcomes of extraordinary teamwork. Though the root and secret weapon continues to be my extraordinary comms coach?Anthony Lee?and the?Heroic Voice Academy?team!"
Deliver Presentations to Generate Money
This category of presentations are designed to generate money in the form of client revenue, investor funding, public or private grants, and contributions from major donors.
From our Message Portfolio, a collection of 7 leadership presentations, we recommend using the "Solution" presentation. The goal of this presentation is to answer the leadership question "What would you advise?" Deliver this presentation with the voice of a trusted advisor, and communicate why you are the best choice for their situation.
Heroic Voice Spotlight
We have prepared Sherri to deliver this category of presentations at investor conferences, industry conferences, and to prospective customers. She has presented at major events including the?JP Morgan Healthcare conference,? the?ViVE Digital Health?event, and shared the stage with John Chambers at the annual Norcal HIMMS conference.
Sherri has presented to the top hospitals and academic institutions in her industry. In each presentation, she communicates trust with a broad range of stakeholders, creates connection between the client challenges and the Medigram solution, and builds a foundation for long-term relationships.

Deliver Presentations to Generate Support
This category of presentations are designed to generate support in the form of new team members, board members, advisors, partnerships, sponsorships, and engagement from policy makers and industry standards bodies.
From our Message Portfolio, we recommend using the "Direction" and "Education" presentations.
The goal of the "Direction" presentation is to answer the leadership question "Where are you going?" Deliver this presentation with the voice of a company/industry leader. Communicate your vision of a future destination, document the collective resources available, and share your bold promise to do "whatever it takes" to get there.
The goal of the "Education" presentation is to answer the leadership question "How will we get there?" Deliver this presentation with the voice of a company/industry teacher. Teach the strategy you will use to lead your team to achieve a milestone or reach a destination. A successful presentation will create clarity and elevate confidence.
Heroic Voice Spotlight
Sherri has used this type of presentation when recruiting world-class talent for the Medigram team and when building her advisory board. As an industry expert, she advises domestic and international government officials who are responsible for shaping health related policies and initiatives.
In addition, Sherri co-chairs the IEEE Trust technical standard project for Clinical IoT in medicine. In her committee meetings, she gives her "Direction" presentation to share key industry trends and data, and gives her "Education" presentation to highlight key elements required to create trust across a wide range of stakeholders.
Deliver Presentations to Generate Reputation
This category of presentations are designed to generate reputation in the form of referrals from clients, social media posts from industry influencers, positive articles from journalists and bloggers, 5-star reviews from experts, and top rankings from third party organizations.
From our Message Portfolio, we recommend using the "Narration" presentation. The goal of this presentation is to answer the leadership question "When have you succeeded?" Deliver this presentation with the voice of a storyteller. Be prepared to share stories that showcase your organization's character, credibility, and competency.
Heroic Voice Spotlight
In the course of Sherri's tenure as CEO, there have been multiple stories of success that highlight the character, credibility and competency of each member of the Medigram team.
These stories are showcased in her industry's leading book?Mobile Medicine, and in her leadership profile published by Silicon Valley Magazine. Sherri's industry leadership and accomplishments as Medigram's CEO have earned her a?top Crunchbase ranking?of executives in the startup ecosystem.
