Joining Dell Technologies right after my graduation was a real adventure, kind of different from what I’ve been experiencing before that, but more arduous and rousing. I was ready to embark on my professional journey and start building my career with my ?rst role as a Data Steward.

My first few months within the company were full of challenges and experiences. I’ve been striving to make the right impression, I was always prepared, and I didn’t want to lose any opportunity. Even I made some mistakes, even I sometimes was intimidated by some people, even my flaws and my insecurities got on my way, I didn’t give up and I challenged myself.

I’m blessed because my integration went well, I learned very quickly about my job and I started making a value-added within my team. I had the chance to be part of a large community including the Data family, participate in so many activities, meet a lot of people and promote a healthy image of the transition from the student world to the professional environment.

I may have entered into the enterprise world as a junior, but being part of a well-known multinational company such as Dell Technologies came with a huge responsibility and a duty to manage between my day to day work, my side activities and my personal life. It’s not that easy, it takes commitment and dedication to put into the work, thrives to build a reputation for myself and make an impact over my surroundings people.

Over these first few months, time management was one of the main if it’s not the most important tool that helped me out, I managed to balance between my day to day responsibilities, my personal growth, and my side activities. This comes to the fact that I had specific goals: to excel within the company, learn and absorb as much information as I can about the different organizations and start making a valuable contribution. These goals were my motivation that kept pushing me to keep moving forward and dedicate my time and my energy to put into the work and progress.

Since day one, I’ve been having a solid daily routine, kind of a routine that I was enjoying and I would never get tired of, I’ve never struggled to wake up in the morning and I’ve always been excited to get my day started. It proves that I’m proud and happy about my job and as long as I’m adopting this attitude and definitely will, I will grow within the company and make a name for myself.

One of the things I’m so grateful for that helped through the beginning of my journey at Dell Technologies was my courage and my ability to interact and communicate with the others, I got to know a lot of people from different services, and all of them were playing a crucial part into shaping my professional personality and drawing my public image. I went through so many experiences just in few months, I learned so much, I frequently received advices and feedbacks, I welcomed new ideas, new suggestions and I sought for guidance.

Consequently, I’ve been capable to bring some vitality to my team, and to people around me at work, I’m an extremely positive person, I tremendously believe that the human engagement and the emotional interaction between colleagues and team members are among the main keys to maximize our potentials at work and maintain a positive mindset.

Accordingly, I was engaged, and I took initiatives to create an ambiance and make the workplace more appealing. We are all shaped differently, we have different interests and we came from different cultural backgrounds, and that’s what makes working and winning together fun, that strives to learn and help each other, get inspired and motivate each other, explore new ideas and maintain a competitive edge between team members, which will ultimately beneficiate my personal growth as well as my team’s development. 

Life at Dell Technologies is absolutely a dazzling one! How can I not make such a statement and I’ve been having each and every day the opportunity to create new memories and experiences, learn, thrive and evolve!!

One of the most things I’m proud of: are my experiences with the Employee Resources Groups “ERGs”; they helped me enormously to engage with even more people, to take on responsibilities and taught me how to balance between my work and side activities. I’ve been blessed with the many events, workshops, conferences, and trainings I organized and participated in. These experiences helped me to forge my personality, build my image and develop my communication skills as well as my professional comportments.

Regarding my work knowledge and experience; I’ve been learning, progressing and striving to expand my knowledge areas in a daily basis, I kept asking questions and getting curious about roles and processes, I always sought for advice and guidance. I didn’t settle for being good only at delivering my responsibilities, I went beyond of that, I engaged myself in trainings and I registered for conferences, workshops and I used different training platforms as additional sources of learning and enhancing my competencies.

In terms of challenges; helping my team, delivering results and bringing new ideas were and remain among my main concerns over these first few months at Dell Technologies. I kept practicing visualization; this powerful tool that helped me through my journey in order to improve my performances, focus on my daily tasks and take suitable actions. However, even I did deliver and I always performed well my daily tasks, I still have to learn even more and work on my areas of development...

By any means, I’m trying to expand my knowledge, learn as much as I can and build a career for myself, I may have missed one day or two in the process, days where I felt a bit tired and lazy, but I got back on track right away, I didn’t give up “it’s a marathon, not a sprint!” I will get to where I want, I will master my job, I will excel and I will achieve the best version of me.

One last thing I must share in this article and that I must to be honest about is aligning between two things: my personal growth within the company and my team stability and harmony. Sometimes, we got to be selfish, think about ourselves before anything else and take firm decisions. I believe that I’m progressing exponentially within my current team, I’m blessed with my role and I see many career growth opportunities. Yet, If I’m thinking of a change, it is normal, I can’t go against my ambitious, highly motivated personality! Nonetheless, as long as I’m part of my current team, I will keep bringing my best version each and every day, I will keep learning, progressing and contributing to my team’s success.
