Beyond the Lot: Pulling Out All the Stops in Edmonton

Beyond the Lot: Pulling Out All the Stops in Edmonton

The days may be getting longer, and the sun may be getting hotter, but that doesn’t stop the people of Edmonton from getting outside and having a good time. On June 14, this came in the form of a friendly competition for a great cause – The Centre High Fire Truck Pull, hosted by the Edmonton Firefighter's Burn Treatment Society (EFBTS).

Members of Impark Edmonton assembled a team, the Blaze Brigade, to participate in the 2024 event, supporting EFBTS and its work. Since 1977, EFBTS has raised funds and awareness for research, treatment, and recovery of thermal injuries.

This year’s event raised nearly $9,000 toward the cause, and our team made us #ImparkProud by raising over $1,000.

The Centre High Campus’ Emergency Response Career Pathways (ERCP) plans the annual event, which has raised over $120,000 for EFBTS since 2008. A truly local affair, the event featured food provided by the Don Wheaton Family YMCA , which provides children, youth, adults, and families access to YMCA membership and programs regardless of their financial situation.

A shout out to the team members who participated: Kris Cyndroski, Yanique Forbes, Hien Huynh, Tai Huynh, Ubeydi Ibrahim, Krystal McCoy, Mohit Mittal, Jacob Ohe, Chris Ray, Eric Smith, Jeffrey Taylor, and Girma Woreta. The Blaze Brigade finished in 8th place overall and took the highest place among non-emergency response personnel.

Congratulations team; thank you for always making us #ImparkProud!
