Teamwork does really make the dream work.

However, not in the way we might think.

There is something to be said for teamwork toward a common goal.??

Sure, some of us prefer working alone, while others thrive on teams. However, working on a diverse team helps us be more efficient. For instance, individual sports aren't as individual as we might think. Let’s take golf. Golf is viewed as one of the most individualistic sports in the world, but every elite golfer would say their caddie was integral to their success. Without caddies, how would golfers choose the right club, track their ball, or navigate the golf course efficiently??

No matter what sport, business, or organization you’re in, collaborating with others who make you better is what it’s all about. Whether you are placed on a team by default or intentionally seeking team members to help you, these people are invaluable assets to help you become more efficient.

Yes, even that team member that you would identify as a ‘pest’ - one who pesters and annoys with complaints about what you do or don’t do. Although they may seem to be pressing you, they are really pushing you to maximize your potential. When we take the time to embrace who we are, we begin to appreciate even the pest.?
