? Fashion Music

Spotify is launching "The Soundtrack Behind the Runway," an in-app feature for fashion weeks. Kicking off with New York Fashion Week, Spotify is partnering with CFDA to curate the official playlist. The feature will also include playlists from London, Milan, and Paris fashion weeks. It showcases the connection between music and fashion during these events, offering a peek into what inspires designers. Spotify is promoting the NYFW playlist with a Times Square billboard featuring a QR code for easy access. The collaboration brings together music and fashion, celebrating their synergy, taking over playlists for London, Milan, and Paris fashion weeks.

?? Technology

TrusTrace , a supply chain traceability provider, is actively involved in the Trace4Value project to test Digital Product Passports (DPPs). This initiative aligns with the European Union's 2030 mandate for DPP adoption in the textile industry to enhance sustainability and transparency. DPPs primarily promote sustainable production, facilitate the transition to a circular economy, and empower consumers to make eco-conscious choices. Shameek Ghosh, TrusTrace 's Co-Founder and CEO, highlighted their commitment to work with industry leaders through Trace4Value to explore DPP opportunities and challenges, ensuring compliance with the 2030 directive. The Trace4Value project, with notable collaborators like Marimekko , Kappahl Group , and others, will tag select products with DPPs containing critical supply chain data. Consumers can access this information by scanning QR codes. TrusTrace has developed a flexible data protocol, adaptable to evolving EU regulations, to support DPP implementation. Standards are crucial for successful DPP development, according to industry experts. This pilot project not only lays the foundation for standards but also helps companies prepare for upcoming legislation.

??? Sustainability

The Circular Fashion Innovation Network (CFIN), a collaboration between the UK Fashion and Textile Association (UKFT) (UKFT), British Fashion Council (BFC), and UK Research and Innovation (UKRI), aims to transform the UK's fashion industry through circularity and innovation. Despite contributing £29 billion to the UK's GDP, the fashion sector faces pressing challenges with high consumption and waste. CFIN, co-chaired by BFC CEO Caroline Rush and UKFT CEO Adam Mansell , operates under the Institute of Positive Fashion (IPF) to drive this transformation. The advisory board, spanning various sectors, will guide the network's vision. CFIN will receive £1.8 million for operations, community building, knowledge sharing, and industry research. It's a central part of UKRI's £15 million commitment to circular fashion. Six working groups will focus on key areas, including circular business models, recycling infrastructure, sustainable manufacturing, novel technology, workforce development, and green growth.

?? Beauty and AI

With artificial intelligence influencing the beauty industry, the boundary between fantasy and reality blurs. Delphine Viguier-Hovasse , the global brand president of L'Oréal Professionnel Paris , introduced the brand's latest Instagram campaign for Infaillible Matte Resistance liquid lipstick with an enthusiastic message: "Get ready for an exciting entrance!" The video features a classic red Citro?n car with an oversized lipstick tube attached to its back. As it cruises along Paris' Avenue de l’Opéra, it leaves a trail of red liquid lipstick from the giant wand, passing by letters spelling "matte resistance" on the cobbled street. In the background, the Palais Garnier showcases a massive banner that reads "L’Oréal Paris.” This lipstick video has become a sensation, amassing 3.5 million views, 122,000 likes, and over a thousand comments within just two days of its release on L’Oréal Paris' Instagram.

??Congrats to NYFW, Spotify , TrusTrace , UK Fashion and Textile Association, 欧莱雅 !
