Beyond The Internship: Grace's Journey

This summer, I had the incredible opportunity to intern with CashmanKatz (CK) and gain real-world experience in the public relations and social media professions. My internship with CK has been a truly invaluable experience. Rather than just being tasked with busy work, I was immersed into the day-to-day operations of the agency and working on projects for clients that actually mattered. This gave me the opportunity to apply what I have been learning in the Whitman School of Management at Syracuse University, while also developing many new skills.

Throughout my internship at CK, I worked with both the social media and the public relations team. For public relations, I had the opportunity to draft press releases, help with research, and be involved in overall PR strategy and execution. While working with the CK social media team, I helped create social media calendars for a variety of platforms for a number of CK’s clients. This included caption writing, content creation, and scheduling via hootsuite. Working with both of these teams allowed me to gain valuable experience and skills that I will take with me as I continue my career journey.

From my first day, it was apparent that CK was not just a typical agency. Everyone made me feel like a welcomed member of the team and it was clear that they truly wanted me to learn from this experience. I was included in meetings where I was able to not only see first hand how everyone worked together to create the best results and experience for their clients, but also was included in their brainstorming and execution. I am so thankful for this opportunity to work with such an incredible team!
