Beyond the Internship: Celebrating Rebecca's Journey!
CashmanKatz
We help brands succeed by connecting with consumers in new and surprising ways.
Today is our last day with our Intern,? Rebecca Berman ! Rebecca has been a huge asset to our social media and PR teams, and we can't wait to see where she goes next!
"I am extremely grateful for my time at CashmanKatz. While I was applying for internships in the winter and spring, this one definitely stuck out to me. I could feel the authenticity and genuinity of Andrew and Julie as they interacted with me, and from there I knew that CashmanKatz was the place I wanted to spend my summer at. I came in initially nervous, but I was calmed by the overwhelming friendliness of all the staff (and dogs) around the office. I was able to see what day-to-day life was like in an office setting and interact with coworkers. I sat near Brittany and Amber, who were amazing throughout this process. We not only talked about work-related things, but also random life events. One of the first things I completed was social media calendars for different clients. I was able to learn about different companies, but also how important wording is for those companies. Some require a much more serious tone, while others can have emojis or other punctuation marks. This helped me learn about catering content to specific groups of people based on the language and message of the post at hand. I also assisted in the development of press releases for CK's PR clients.
With social media posts comes a variety of programs I learned to use/got more familiar with throughout the process. I know the ins and outs of Google programs, and I learned about Hootsuite, Canva, and Cision. It was very interesting to see the real process of how social media posts are put together, and how it’s so much more than just pressing the post button.?

Another aspect of the company that I got to experience was actually going to shoots/events that CashmanKatz was doing social media/PR for. I was able to speak to multiple news anchors and see how the process of filming for television worked. I was also exposed to a ton of new people in the business world that I was able to make connections with.
I was also able to film content with the social media department. This was one of the aspects of the internship that I was the most excited about. We took a whole day of work and filmed for a variety of different companies. I was even involved in a few videos, which was pretty exciting for me. We filmed both outside and inside using different props. It was cool to see the process behind filming something as simple as a 30 second video. There is a lot that goes on behind the scenes, and that was something that was really fun to be a part of. I was able to connect with the social media staff on a deeper level, and the whole day was one of my favorites at CashmanKatz.?
I am very thankful for all the experience I have gained while interning at CashmanKatz. I’m going to miss this wonderful group of people who I was lucky enough to get to know and work with."?
