In the realm of business, money plays a central role, but its significance goes beyond mere accumulation.
Many believe that making money is the ultimate goal, but Wilson Luna, Leadership Expert and Author, says that it's only the first stage of a three-part journey.
The subsequent stages, maintaining money and enjoying it, require a deeper understanding of self-worth and the transformation of our beliefs.
In this article, we will explore these stages and unveil the profound connection between money and self-worth.
The First Stage: Making Money
Making money is often perceived as the easiest part of the journey.
It involves leveraging our skills, knowledge, and resources to generate wealth.
However, true success lies in recognizing that money is not the end goal itself, but rather a tool for achieving our desires and dreams.
This stage provides the foundation for the subsequent stages and opens doors to new opportunities!
The Second Stage: Maintaining Money
Maintaining money is where the real challenge begins!
It requires a shift in mindset and a meticulous approach to financial management.
As our wealth grows, we encounter new variables and complexities.
It becomes crucial to adapt to changing circumstances, make informed decisions, and protect our financial well-being.
This stage demands discipline, strategic planning, and an understanding of the ever-evolving financial landscape.
The Third Stage: Enjoying Money
The pinnacle of the journey is reached when we truly learn to enjoy our wealth!
However, this stage is elusive for many.
To fully embrace the joy of abundance, we must let go of the fear of losing what we have gained.
Self-worth becomes the key factor here.
When we recognize our inherent value and detach our sense of worth from material possessions, we can experience true fulfillment.
It is the realization that wealth is not the ultimate measure of success but rather a reflection of our self-worth.

1 年Mind is officially blown! A deeply counterintuitive perspective on how money is integral to our self-worth and switching the whole sequence 180 degrees. A scarcity approach will get you through Stages 1&2 then fail you at Stage 3, where money becomes a prison of your own making. The journey from scarcity to abundance is a spiritual one and is the real pay off of making enough money that you don't need to worry about losing it. We can then focus on the abundance in our lives, instead of always on lack.

1 年Stage one for sure! I’m starting to see how it all starts with getting being coachable, persistent and consistent in pillars, scheduling and having attention in tasks to help being able to effectively leverage our skills and knowledge to generate wealth. This starts the winning process and abundance to transition to the next phases! So much hard work along the way but it’s all about having fun and I’m starting to understand why it is important to keep a winning mindset!

1 年I find money conversations fascinating! I'm in Stage 1 currently and completely see that mindset is the thing that needs to shift throughout the stages as well as developing a different skillset - and having appropriate people to advise! In the UK there are many examples within the last hundred years or so where wealthy families were not able to make the required shifts required within Stage 2 to maintain long-term generational wealth. In our work with family offices now, we're able to provide perspective on long-term assets within the London property market.

1 年Stage One - Making the money and realising the value our business offers is crucial to this process. As is the awareness of these three stages. This perspective makes it easier to see where we are now and where we'll be in the future.

1 年I’m still in the making money stage and definitely find that coming from a mindset of scarcity vs abundance makes a big difference. Finding that I sometimes hover between the two and that is something I need to manage and manage my self worth.
