Beyond developmental biases
Emergent Themes in Organizational Life: 3 day workshop with Bonnitta Roy,
There are many new initiatives and projects out there, where people have already got a real grasp of new paradigms and organizations, much in the way that Ricardo Semmler describes his way of leading change in organizational life. Yet many people ahead of the curve, in the agile community or in integral circles struggle with organizing emergent behavior and properties through old paradigm structures - whether that is govenance by constitution, property rights, roles, power, or leadership patterns. The problem with using old structures is that you get old structures' outcome, or they squash/downregulate emergence. Another potential trap in organizational life is the fact that that most (new) models of change or leadership have an implicit or explicit developmental bias - while there are different ways to lead change in complex situations, that are extremely generative. This is so important in most of our situations today where we are facing complex adaptive challenges where decisions have to be made while outcome can't be predicted (see Dave Snowdens work). If you are interested in how this can fly with both feet on the ground, consider joining us, a handpicked small group of people from DE, SE, NL, BE, CZ, US in our workshop next week. April 1.-3. north of Berlin. About 5 places still free.
