Beyond ChatGPT: A ready reckoner of a few of the FREE AI platforms to explore

Further to my blog last week about learning to work with AI, I thought I’d offer a super quick guide to some of the FREE platforms available beyond ChatGPT. All are accessible, each boasting unique functionalities, and are definitely worth exploring to understand their applications and utility in both personal and business contexts.? Following are a few of the platforms (out of the many available) that I’ve played around with and some observations I've discovered on along the way:

Perplexity AI: Your Instant Answer Friend

Think of Perplexity AI as that friend who always has a quick answer for everything. It's great when you need a fast fact or a clear-cut solution.

  • Pros: Snappy and on the nose – it’s your go-to for a speedy reply. Has an App
  • Cons: It's not one for long stories, so sometimes you might miss out on the bigger picture.

Claude 2: The Thoughtful Chat AI

Claude 2 is like that trusted confidant who always thinks before they speak, making sure they get what you're saying. It's all about making chats safe and sound.

  • Pros: It’s careful and considerate, keeping your chats on track.
  • Cons: Still the new kid on the block, it’s getting better at the tricky stuff.

Bing with AI: Your Search Gets Smarter

Bing now comes with a brain boost, making your searches smarter and more tailored to what you're actually looking for.

  • Pros: It’s like having a search sidekick that knows you better. Has a mobile App
  • Cons: Sometimes it gets puzzled by really complicated questions

Pi: Your personal AI

Pi stands for Personal Intelligence and is here to be your supportive companion.

  • Pros: Friendly, empathic and conversational, Pi is designed to give personalised answers. Has a mobile App.
  • Cons: Can get a bit confused due to a limited data set

Bard: Google's Creative Whiz

Bard is Google's way of putting a creative spin on chatting. It uses all of Google's brainpower to come up with fresh, relevant answers.

  • Pros: Taps into Google's massive knowledge for clever, current replies.
  • Cons: It's still learning and growing, so there’s more to come.

Engaging with these AI platforms not only unveils their strengths and capabilities; it also provides practical insights into their utility and relevance, equipping us for an AI-centric future. Whether it's for driving business innovations, embarking on creative ventures, or simply satisfying personal curiosity, exploring these tools is crucial for understanding the extensive influence and differences of AI.

What AI platforms are you currently using, and which ones are you finding most useful? Are there any that have particularly impressed or surprised you with their capabilities? Share your experiences and let’s learn from each other’s journeys in AI.
