As I wrote in my newsletter, every third article in my feed seems to be about Artificial intelligence (AI). But most of those articles leave me wondering how to apply these tools in my daily work life as an executive recruiter. Today I am sharing a set of resources to help answer that question I hope you will find helpful too.
Practical AI Applications
Don't let the buzzwords drown out the applications. Just like McKinsey outlines in their blog post, there are numerous ways to incorporate AI into your HR strategy. Think about using AI for content creation (e.g., crafting personalized onboarding materials), automating administrative tasks, or developing chatbots to answer frequently asked candidate questions.
Current AI Usage
In LinkedIn Talent Acquisition’s article “Ready to Take the Plunge? Here are 5 Practical Ways to Use AI in Recruitment” they provide a list of practical ways companies are currently utilizing AI. These include:
·???????? Shared AI Learning Spaces.
·???????? Streamline processes like candidate summaries.
·???????? Prompt Libraries.
Laura Hilgers, the author, also includes some important advice about developing a company policy and strategy around AI usage. Currently, many employees are BYO or bringing their own and this has safety and security implications.

The Prompt Whisperer
One of the keys to unlocking AI's potential lies in crafting effective prompts. Lou Adler, in his LinkedIn piece "Use AI to Write Perfect Prompts," highlights how the quality of these prompts directly impacts the output. Think of them as instructions you give AI – the more specific and detailed they are, the better the results. Tools like AI-powered prompt generators can help overcome writer's block.
RPO Gets Smarter with AI
Recruitment Process Outsourcing (RPO) can be a valuable tool, but integrating AI takes it to the next level. As, AI can automate tasks like candidate screening and resume analysis, freeing up time for recruiters to focus on candidate engagement and building relationships. Additionally, AI can analyze vast amounts of data to identify patterns and predict candidate success, leading to more data-driven decision-making throughout the hiring process.
How Does AI Fit in YOUR Hiring Strategy?
One common concept in all of these resources is that human interaction is more important than ever for successful recruiting. Developing a hiring strategy that gains efficiency from AI tools and allows HR professionals and recruiters to spend more time connecting with candidates is a winning strategy to consider.
