Beyond the Bottom Line: The True Reward of Entrepreneurship
Eight years ago, I made the difficult decision to leave behind my successful entrepreneurial career to pursue my passion for helping others. Despite achieving incredible success with multiple exits, I realized that I wasn't truly fulfilled in my work and sought to use my knowledge and experiences to make a positive impact on the world. I obtained a Ph.D. ``and began teaching, but I couldn't shake the feeling that I was meant to be an entrepreneur.
It took me six long years, but with the encouragement and support of my father and wife, I finally mustered the courage to jump back into the business. My father, in particular, was the one who finally pushed me over the edge. He was my biggest supporter and believed in me more than anyone else. His words of encouragement and belief in my potential were a constant reminder that I was meant to be an entrepreneur. He always reminded me that I had the skills and drive to make it in the business world, and his support gave me the confidence to take the leap.
Tragically, my father passed away just a year later. Still, his belief in me and my potential was a driving force behind my decision to pursue my entrepreneurial aspirations once again. I knew that I had to honor his memory by making the most of the opportunity he had given me. His support and belief in me were invaluable, and I knew I could not let his encouragement go to waste.

I knew that the true reward in business is not just financial success, but making a positive impact on others. So, with that in mind, I set out to create a business that would generate financial success and make a difference in the world. And I did just that. I created a business that helped people in need and also generated income.
Despite facing challenges as a Hispanic lesbian woman in the business world and being scared out of my mind, I managed to generate nearly $5 million in revenue within the first year of my new venture. To be honest, I even surprised myself! But I knew that I had to take the risk and put my fears aside in order to achieve my goals. I wanted to make my dad proud.
I learned that with the right attitude, determination, and the support of those who believe in you, anyone can reach their goals, no matter the circumstances and challenges they may face. It's important to have people who support you, believes in you, and will encourage you when you feel scared or nervous.
I now live by the mantra that if you focus on making an impact, financial success will come naturally. So, if you're feeling discouraged, remember that anything is possible. The only thing holding you back is yourself. Take the plunge and follow your dreams, I promise it's worth it. Good luck!
