Beyond the Bedside: Nurturing the Spirit and Soul

Beyond the Bedside: Nurturing the Spirit and Soul

At Yad Sarah, we believe health care extends far beyond physical needs.?

From taking a break from routine, to fresh air and uplifting experiences; here is how we’ve helped individuals this month heal both body and soul:

Exploring Without Limits

Yad Sarah’s Mangishei Derech initiative organizes accessible trips for individuals with limited mobility, ensuring they experience the beauty of Israel beyond the confines of home.

This month, the group enjoyed a sunny winter day at the Tel Aviv Port. As one participant shared: "It was a rare opportunity to put the pain aside, breathe, and experience moments of beauty."

The group also visited the site of the Nova massacre, where Tal Kupershtein, who receives regular support from Yad Sarah, reflected on the story of his son, Bar, who was taken hostage during the tragedy.

Supporting Emotional Well-being

Yad Sarah, in partnership with the Jerusalem Municipality and Mifal HaPais, launched a new support program for grandparents of wounded soldiers.?

This initiative, led by Moti Asraf from Jerusalem’s Yad Latomech department, highlights the emotional challenges grandparents face while caring for their families during difficult times.

We recognize that mental health support is just as vital as physical care, especially for seniors.?

A Special Ride for a Special Day

Yad Sarah was thrilled to support Uri Shachor and his bride on their wedding day.

As a long-time user of our Nechonit wheelchair-accessible transportation, Uri’s special day was marked by a unique gesture. After the ceremony, our volunteers decorated the Nechonit van that would be taking them home with festive balloons!?

We wish the newlyweds a lifetime of love and happiness in their new home.

A Night of Music and Joy for Wounded Veterans

Yad Sarah volunteer, Shlomo Osdon, went above and beyond to support wounded veterans. Using our accessible transportation services, Shlomo organized a special concert outing for a group from Sheba Medical Center, Tel Hashomer ’s rehabilitation department.?

This night of music provided a well-deserved moment of joy and reprieve for those who’ve sacrificed so much for Israel.

Beyond medical equipment, physical rehabilitation support, and other services that care for physical needs, Yad Sarah remains dedicated to supporting the mental health of the people of Israel.?
