Beyond the Beach: Lamu's Booming Bounty - Where Tomatoes Thrive While Others Fret!

National tomato blues got you down? News reports are flooded with rising prices and dwindling supplies, but fear not! There's a secret oasis in Kenya where sunshine meets salty air, creating a haven for delicious and affordable tomatoes – Lamu!

Lamu: Not Just Stunning Scenery, But Sun-Kissed Success

While other regions struggle, Lamu's unique coastal climate and fertile soil are a recipe for agricultural success. Here, we don't just grow tomatoes, we cultivate them to perfection. Imagine plump, juicy tomatoes bursting with flavor, a far cry from the sad, storm-battered ones plaguing other areas.

But Lamu's not a one-trick pony! Our agricultural basket overflows with:

Cash Crops: Cashew nuts, coconuts, and the vibrant bixa used in food coloring - all waiting to be your next big profit maker.

Tropical Fruits: Mangoes, oranges, bananas - a symphony of flavors grown under the warm Kenyan sun.

Fresh Vegetables: A healthy mix beyond tomatoes, ensuring a complete and nutritious harvest.

Thriving Livestock: Goats, sheep, and cattle find their happy place in Lamu's lush pastures.

More Than Just Farming: A Community on the Rise

Lamu isn't just about the bounty, it's about opportunity. We're investing in irrigation to ensure a steady water supply, empowering farmers with modern techniques, and creating a network to connect Lamu's produce to eager markets – tomatoes included!

Calling All Visionary Farmers!

I want to farm In Africa. I have 18 years work experience in managing carbon neutral, organic estate and agricultural gardens. I have knowledge of native trees and plants and employ only organic and agricultural practices. My focus is on how to mitigate the effects of climate change on landscapes, soils and crop production. I am particularly interested in working in crop production, soil microbiology and water conservation to create self-sustaining ecosystems. I am excited about the use of cutting edge science and data technology in helping to solve the effects of climate change. The misuse of land resources poses a threat poses a threat to the balance of our ecosystems jeopardizing not only food production but our own species. By embracing regenerative agricultural practices we have the power to restore soil health, enhance water retention and safeguard Biodiversity. I am a committed conservationist, deep down, a farmer who would like to work locally or in developing countries. I am able to lead teams and communities in agricultural and environmental conservation. I am also interested In promoting urban farms and working with indigenous communities. My email.
