Alumni relations has become a multi-faceted business requiring a range of skills and expertise to be successful. To help you and your team support your alumni association so that it benefits the alumni and the institution, we are offering a special 2-session course:
Alumni Relations Master Class: Beyond the Basics for Building Your Alumni Community
Participants will learn about a wide range of topics from relationship management to communications to measuring success. The four-hour curriculum is designed to be applied learning so your association will benefit directly from it - during the program, attendees will have the opportunity to apply the concepts to their own institution and to share ideas with others.
The class is offered as 2 sessions and you have the choice of dates in June:
Course one: June 20 2 pm - 4 pm EST/11 am - 1 pm PST and June 21 2 pm - 4 pm EST/11 am-1 pm PST
Course two: June 22 2 pm - 4 pm EST/11 am - 1 pm PST and June 29 2 - 4 pm EST/11 am - 1 pm PST
Meet the Course Instructor:
Kathy Edersheim, President and Founder of Impactrics, has over 20 years of alumni relations, community building, and leadership development experience. Her work includes all aspects of community management from strategic planning to governance issues to member engagement and metrics. She was Senior Director of International Alumni Relations and Travel at the Association of Yale Alumni, responsible for Yale Educational Travel and three global mission programs as well as being part of the management team for five years. Kathy was a lead developer of the metrics system to assess alumni engagement and programming effectiveness. Kathy is co-editor of the YaleGALE Guide to Alumni Relations. Her projects have ranged from supporting the creation of the Alumni Association of the Max Planck Society to serving as interim CEO inHive Global, a UK based charity dedicated to improving life outcomes for youth through alumni networks. Kathy served on the AYA Board of Governors for four years. Kathy was the first woman President of the Yale Club of New York City - the largest college club in the world with a 22 story building located in the heart of midtown Manhattan. Kathy is a graduate of Yale College and received an MBA from the Stern School of Business.
Course Structure:
Who should attend this course?
The course is designed for professionals with up to 5 years of experience in alumni relations. Volunteers/Alumni are also welcome to attend. We ask that no more than three people from one institution register for the program. The class will be limited to 20 people.
