Hello and happy Sunday,
Welcome to another YOU GOT THIS! newsletter.
I am often asked how to access limiting beliefs. Do you want to know, too?
Then I have a very simple exercise for you: Imagine that you could do anything you wanted to do professionally. Do you have an idea?
?Then pay attention to your thoughts.
Because in addition to the beautiful idea, the reasons that speak against this idea becoming reality should now also appear in your thoughts.
Most likely this are your limiting beliefs.
Becoming aware of your beliefs is the first step towards leaving them behind and making conscious decisions that will lead you to the life you want to live.
In today’s edition of my newsletter, I′ll write about these three topics:
?? My latest learning: Integration phases – What are they and why are they important!
?? Career Inspiration: Your Career Isn't Just About You
?? Female Leadership: Oppressive silence in the team meeting. What to do?
Have a wonderful week
Best Regards, Katharina
?? My latest learning: Integration phases – What are they and why are they important!
In my coaching training I′m deep diving at the moment into Integration phases. These are periods during which an individual takes time to absorb, process, and incorporate new experiences, insights, or skills into their life and psyche. These phases are crucial for several reasons.
When reflecting upon this I know them just too well, the phases of internal work that are necessary for holistic and sustainable development in any high-performance journey. They ensure that growth and change are not only achieved but are also deeply rooted and enduring.
Whenever I was in an integration phase I had the feeling that nothing moves and that I am on pause.
However internally they are active periods in which I am processing change, so that the change is not a superficial adjustment.
By taking time to reflect, I can achieve a sense of inner harmony and reduce feelings of stress or disorientation that often accompany significant changes.
I now know that high performance is sustainable only when there is balance between exertion and recovery.
Integration phases act as necessary downtimes that prevent burnout and ensure that you and I can perform well over the long term.
I now love these integration phases as they ensure that growth and change are not only achieved but are also deeply rooted and enduring.
?? Career Inspiration: Your Career Isn't Just About You
When you choose to settle in your life or career, it isn't just about you.
Settle in means that you accept less than what you might aspire to (in terms of personal ambitions, career goals, etc.) Settling can mean different things depending on context, but generally, it refers to making compromises on one’s aspirations, desires, or potential. It impacts your relationships. It impacts what your children are learning about work. It impacts your physical and mental health.
Family or dependents might be affected by financial implications or lost opportunities.
Colleagues or professional networks might experience changes in dynamics or missed collaborative opportunities.
And when you decide to settle over the long term, you'll feel stuck, disgruntled, lost, and frustrated about 80% of the time...and you'll bring all that home or to when you're out with your friends. There are side effects, and none of them are good. Like headaches, fatigue, insomnia, weight gain/loss, or mental effects like mood swings, anxiety, irritability, lack of motivation, or even depression. When you settle in your career, you might not notice these things immediately or even make the connection.
It's time to turn that around. To make some power moves. Because when you're IN a fulfilling career, studies show it can extend your life. But to make power moves requires you to be totally SOLD on the belief that you can have a fulfilling and meaningful career and life you love.
That's when the opportunities become clear, your income increases and your life and relationships get exponentially better.
It happens naturally and noticeably.
If you've been settling and are ready to step into what's next, join me in my amazing career coaching. I got you, the next step is a discovery call with me that you can book ????here .
?? Female Leadership: Oppressive silence in the team meeting. What to do?
Oppressive silence in the team meeting. Nobody gets involved.
This is how you can deal with it:
In an exchange with someone from my network, the question arose as to how to organize a team meeting in which, as a rule, nobody says anything, even when the team members are asked for their opinion.
What a great question!
My spontaneous thought: I wouldn't start with the team meeting itself as a first step.
Because if nobody wants to get involved there, something seems to be fundamentally wrong.
Within the team or in the cooperation with me as a leader.
How I would proceed: In one-on-ones, I would try to find out exactly what the problem is by asking questions.
For example like this: What is currently going well for you? What problems do you see? How would you solve these problems? How is the teamwork going? What do you miss about working together? What should we definitely keep? On a scale of 1 to 10 (where 1 = terrible and 10 = fantastic), how would you rate our teamwork? What would you like from your colleagues? What do you want from me? What is your next goal? What does it depend on whether you will achieve it? How can I support you?
Then - depending on the result - I would plan further steps. For example, discuss the topic in a separate workshop with the team, organize a team event, a team-building event, take up the feedback given to me as a manager and try to implement it, etc. >> what would you do?
??Change starts with you
Nothing will change unless you change something! It's up to you!
The alternative: Keep doing what you're doing...
I wish you a great week; enjoy life, and remember to SHOW UP!
If you say what you want, you increase the chance of being heard! ??
Have a great day, and remember, it is the one who gives up and does not reach success.
And now I wish you all the best and talk soon!
Best Regards, Katharina
