Very helpful, Angelo Ponzi. A company that is trying to sell really needs you to effectively articulate what they do and how they do it. Otherwise, their valuation report is incomplete and without a competitive analysis would appear to be uniformed.

Great information, Angelo Ponzi! I always say that a business is worth what someone will pay for it. It would take a brand expert such as yourself to tell the story of why a buyer should buy a business no matter what a valuation report would show for the very same suggestions you point out. Depending on a seller’s time frame, there’s a lot they can do to better position the company for sale, and obtaining not just a valuation, but a gap review is key. The gap review will highlight potential valuation gains if they’re willing to take steps to improve what buyers look for in a purchase at least a year or two ahead of an exit. I’m looking forward to part two!
