I received positive feedback on last week's article from several industry experts, underscoring the importance of zooming out when implementing AI in our processes and understanding the ripple effect on our organizations' structure, culture, and management style.

But I also encountered a large traditional law firm intentionally navigating the impact of shifting from a traditional partner structure with legal skills as core skills, towards a hybrid legal-tech company, and how the effect that will have on all layers of the organisation. With a proven record of predicting future developments, I will tell you this:

AI is definitely sending a shockwave through your organization

The question is not IF AI will disrupt the way we work, including our professional relationships and organizational structures, but WHEN it will happen.

And here lies the risk. Not taking timely action to understand the areas of impact and prepare for them can leave your company with a workforce possessing outdated skills and a lack of access to the AI talents needed to optimize your processes to stay ahead of your competition. Additionally, you may face a shortage of external resources to support you through these transformations - your competition might hire them first.
