Beyond All The Noise: Lets Think About This For Just A Second

Please bear with me but, when information is being industrially produced... either by chatGPT or artificial intelligence (AI), even when information is being used as a tool for foreign countries to mis-inform, even when data is being manipulated and misconstrued... the representation of findings are bend for particular interests... we must resist.

Whether it's generated by tools like AI or manipulated by foreign entities to mis-inform, data can be easily twisted and presented to serve specific interests... we must resist.

Personally, I had to take a step back yesterday to really think about all the things that are being generated around me (it's a mouthful of nothingness!). Also, is extremely dangerous. The amount of information we consume everyday is quite a lot, and I invite you to really take the time to engage with it instead of just absorb whatever comes your way.

The quality of your questions determines the quality of your life" - Ben Fairfield

Therefore, I like to use this framework to ask myself, 1) Why is this information being shared? 2) Who is behind it? 3) What is the message, 4) How is it being delivered? 5) When was it shared, and 6) what is the overall context?

There is a more sophisticated framework developed by California State University, which I am going to link it here. Highly recommend taking a look at it if this interest you.

Yes, I made this infographic just for you :)

I used to work in identifying high level cases of fraud, waste, and abuse for a living!!!! However, I was incredibly successful at that particular role because I would bring my very critical skills to the table... Anyway, that experience taught me that it is complex and it is widespread. In my opinion, this is nothing different.

A way to think about this, is to use the framework above ?? But also, you can try to limit your screening time, try to research different sources of information, limit your screening time online (I know, that's tough even for me), and try to fact-check the information you see. See below ??

How are my infographic skills so far?

We know this issue is quite difficult because it is even infiltrated here in LinkedIn, in academia, everywhere!!! So, let's just be alert. Can it be a tool and useful? sure thing. It can it be lazy and disingenuous too.

And, if you think this is something you've seen and/or participated in, I ask you to be part of the process of the knowledge creation yourself. YOUR life experiences and YOUR professional standpoints are ENOUGH. Be present and reflect critically. Your integrity matters and not necessarily producing more means its somehow better.

If you have the time, I have a short survey to kinda gather your thoughts on this. I would love to hear your thoughts on this, so please answer this survey!

Truthfully, I just wanted to share my thoughts on this in here, and also pick our brains a little. I am sure there is more to it than this, but hopefully this would get us started. Pd. check this article that talks about AI and decline in reading comprehension and writing accuracy.

From a humble human...
