As I wrap up 30 editions of AI Observer moving on to this #31st, I find myself at the beginning of a new journey.

A journey that bridges the gap between tech, AI, and real businesses. I am also a bit tired of this overused term AI and start using something else—Machine Intelligence (MI) Cognitive Computing or simply Intelligent Systems?

The tech world is buzzing with countless MI tools launching daily. Many of these tools are passing trends amidst all influx. The challenge lies in understanding as to which tools can be integrated into genuine business applications.

Amidst a vast landscape, there are some groundbreaking developments. For instance, organizations are rapidly deploying generative AI tools, with significant effects anticipated on industries and workforces.

Today, we're witnessing the dawn of a new era where LLMs generate content, create images and videos, compose music and craft real-life digital avatars.

Stock market bots are predicting market trends, while medical bots like Google Palm and open-source platforms like Stability are revolutionizing healthcare. But these are just the tip of the iceberg.

The potential of AI and MI extends far and beyond.

Imagine a future where MI aids urban planning, optimizes real-time traffic flows, designs SOPs across all day-to-day services, and predicts infrastructure needs.

Think of a world where AI systems can predict environmental changes, helping us combat climate change more effectively.

Envision AI-driven educational tools that offer personalized learning experiences that adapt to a student's needs in real time. The possibilities are endless.

There's a lot of noise, a lot of scaremongering, and a lot of so-called solutions. New tools and tech emerging every day won't stand the test of time — and, honestly, some are quite useless.

However, from a philosophical perspective, MI will help humans live more meaningful lives devoid of hard labor and assist in managing the complexities of common tasks.

This edition is more of an introduction to future ones, and in those future ones, I aim to cut through the noise and bring you real, actionable insights.

Insights that can guide businesses in harnessing the power of MI in practical ways without getting lost in technical jargon.

In the News: This week, OpenAI, the parent company of the AI chatbot, revealed how it is currently spending a whopping $700,000 a day to run ChatGPT. With major affiliates like Microsoft backing them, they're bearing the brunt of the operational costs.

But with mounting losses and a shift in public interest, losing paid subscribers, OpenAI's future seemed uncertain. However, industry experts like Ather Energy’s Tarun Mehta have a different perspective.
