1 年Donald Back I think that universities are not very informed or creative about potential careers for graduates, aside from academic researchers/ professors. There are a few national programs such as iCorps, which was started by the National Science Foundation and has begun expansion into other research funding topics. Those primarily lean toward entrepreneurial types. There's a world in between. Having done some iCorps and other work for NSF, I've met many ultra high caliber scientists. Their careers are fascinating, though not always simple. I guess my advice would be - there is a process, it's likely to take time and dedication, and industry is a great place to find fulfilling work. Look for resources beyond whatever was provided by your school. And use them with the same dedication that you gave your studies.
