Bewitched & besotted!

Helen returned from reviewing Bishops Hall beaming and rapturous. ?‘Guys, honestly, just WOW… this hideaway is absolutely incredible, a straight-to-the-hotlist Rockstar!’ Of course, we’ve heard it all before… and it’s not that we’re blasé exactly, but as we swim daily in the waters of extraordinary house eye-candy, it takes something super-special to astonish us. It was the stairway carpet of all things that had us instantly spellbound. And in awe of the owner, who took a leap of faith when commissioning the design inspired by a much-loved handbag to create a carpet that would cloak the immense stairway and balcony of her beautiful home. Her courage paid off… as design statements go it may be bold, but boy does it work!

One of our most beloved Interior Designers, Clinton Savage, took the helm of an intense renovation and rework at Bishops Hall, collaborating closely with the owners to create a calm, cohesive, staggeringly beautiful family home. Together they masterfully balanced the traditional elements of this grand dame; her ivy-clad exteriors, wood-panelled walls, elegant picture rails and classic marble fireplaces, with the best of contemporary design; deep, rich wall colours, eye-catching light installations, flamboyant wallpaper and glorious art. Add in the setting; a lily-flowered eco pool overlooking tiered lawns to the dramatic mountains beyond, and the result is transcendent. We’re bewitched and besotted with Bishops Hall; as will be anyone fortunate enough to stay here – could that be you?
