Beware the Scammers of March! (or any other month)

Any of those texts look familiar? We've all seen them - text scams, email scams, phone scams - everywhere you turn it feels like someone is just waiting for you to drop your guard and BAM! You’ve become the victim of a scammer. This isn’t new, con artists have been around since (dare I say) the dawn of time, but with so much technology at their disposal they are finding new ways to try to rob us of our hard earned money. No matter how well educated or not we are or how much or little we have we all look the same to the scam artist - a target. So how do we arm ourselves when we don’t know when or how the scam will appear, or what it will look like? Knowledge is Power! Cliche? Maybe - but if it works does it really matter?

This week March 3-9, 2024 is National Consumer Protection Week. The FTC (Federal Trade Commission) and many other institutions and organizations are dedicating this week to spreading awareness and educating consumers about their rights and how to identify frauds and scams.?
